"Moody Palette Knife" is a series of paintings that were created primarily with palette knives instead of paint brushes. The knife takes away an element of control leading to strokes that are raw, unrefined and unedited. When I made these works, I also placed a one-hour time limit to keep me in an auto-responsive place--trusting my instincts over deliberating about each decision that had to be made. These paintings are unquestioned by my own reason and stand as artifacts of my own emotional energy at the time.
